Summer is in the Hunter Valley Air

Whether you’re a green thumb, a rose lover, or you just like pretty things, from Monday 15 October to Sunday 18 November the annual Rose Spectacular at Hunter Valley Gardens will stimulate your senses as you succumb to the beautiful rose displays and pungent scents while being educated on the history of roses and the best way to grow them at home by the highly qualified horticultural team and the Hunter Regional Rose Society.

If wine and good music is more to your taste, then you’re in for a treat at this year’s Jazz in the Vines concert on Saturday 27 October at Tyrrell’s Vineyards. Enjoy a relaxing day with friends and family as you have something to eat and sip on wine to the sound of a heavy bass line played by some of Australia’s best jazz artists amidst the beautiful Brokenback Mountain backdrop.

For those who aren’t so into wine, the Bitter and Twisted International Boutique Beer Festival will be held at the Maitland Gaol on the first weekend in November. With over 50 different beers to try and live entertainment to keep the festivities alive, it’s sure to be a great weekend.

The Sculpture in the Vineyards is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2012 and will exhibit over 100 outdoor sculptures along the Wollombi Valley Wine Trail between Saturday 3 November and Monday 3 December. It’s a must see for all the art lovers.

On Saturday 24 November Callicoma Hill will host a movies under the stars night, encouraging families to come along and enjoy this special viewing of classic movies while wrapped up in blankets in the surroundings of the forest and under the illumination of the stars.
